All of our commercial structures are designed and fabricated for 90kms wind loads or more if specifications required.

DURING THE CYCLONE SEASON (NOV – APRIL EACH YEAR)

Once the meteorological station announces a cyclone warning Class 2 in Mauritius, Stretchtek strongly advises its customers to remove their shade and waterproof sails to avoid being damaged with the cyclonic winds that might occur.

It has always been our advice and messaging that shade sails removal are solely the responsibility of our customers as the service cannot be offered by Stretchtek unfortunately because of the large amount of installed sails around the island.
However, it is possible to have your sails taken down before the cyclonic period and have them re-installed (with a fee) after all cyclone warnings have been removed.

To note that after a cyclonic event, the scheduling of re-installation will be communicated to the customer and might take some time due to high demand.

During a cyclonic event our website and phones will be manned to assist our valued customers.

It is also our view that our customers be alert to the cyclone season and plan for any cyclone “watch and warnings”.

However, note the following:

1. Limited staff will be able to take calls
2. We will endeavour to answer all calls
3. Emails may not be checked until the meteorological services or relevant authorities have declared it safe to return to work.

Thanks to note that in any cases, the option of using waterproof sails will only be advised after establishing that there won’t be any risk factors due to the wind load or water evacuation.

By default, structures will be fabricated using the standard fabric with +- 88% water runoff.

Waterproof cloth is approximately 30% more expensive than standard fabric and is available only in limited colours
